Less than 6% of business schools worldwide have obtained AACSB accreditation, and less than 2% of schools hold supplemental accounting accreditation. The college has maintained its accreditation since 1970 for undergraduate programs and 1981 for its graduate programs.
TIME ranked WMU as one of the best schools for future leaders, citing it in the top 100 colleges that excel in nurturing highly influential leaders—noting the expertise of the Haworth College of Business in particular. To develop the list, TIME and Statista analyzed the resumes of 2,000 leaders in the U.S. spanning politicians, CEOs, Nobel Prize winners and others to determine where they received their degrees. The listing ranked Western at No. 79 in the nation and third in Michigan.
